Westminster Candidates 2024

As your Ulster Unionist Party candidate for East Belfast, I'm here to put people first and bring common-sense solutions to our community. The UK are recognised as world-leaders for their innovative approach to AI adoption and regulation of the technology. We must ensure Northern Ireland is equally considered in realising the benefits of the technology. I care deeply about our environment, but I'm determined to protect it without draining the public purse. Defence and security are crucial, I will ensure that our community isn’t left behind. I'm dedicated to public service and ready to fight for the positive change we deserve. I’m here to listen to your concerns and work tirelessly to represent your interests. Together, we can secure a brighter future for East Belfast!

I have lived all my life in South Belfast. I am recently widowed as I lost my wife to Pulmonary Fibrosis. I have 3 grown up children and 5 grandsons. I have been involved in Belfast South from the late 1990s as a director and vice chairman of Community Technical Aid working with the Belfast action teams and local community groups in making Belfast work.

I served in the Army and T/A from 1973 - 1997. I was elected and served 25 years as a Councillor to Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council and elected as Mayor twice. I was awarded a Member of the British Empire MBE for services to the community.

I am running to be your next Member of Parliament to be a positive and confident pro-Union voice for you in Westminster.

Belfast West deserves an MP who is willing to take their seat and raise important local issues to the highest level possible. As a Belfast resident, I want to stand up for the change that we need to see for the area to reach its full potential, such as investment to reclaim abandoned waste sites and build more housing, as well as a better-funded and more efficient health service.

If elected to represent you at Westminster, I will fight hard to bring these things that matter to all of us to the forefront of any conversation on Northern Ireland's future.

It is a huge honour to stand as your Ulster Unionist Party Candidate for this vital Westminster election.

I am passionate about public service and our local area. Having served in local council and as your East Antrim UUP MLA I believe I have proven both my work ethic and my ability to represent everyone on the issues that matter.

East Antrim has had the same MP for 19 years. It is now time for progressive & positive change.

On 4th July please be part of that positive change. Vote John Stewart. Thank You.

Glen is a married father of two and Director in his family business since 2010. In that time, he has been contributing to the local economy and creating employment, his business interests also gives Glen a strong connection to the rural and agriculture community.

Through his work in Boys Brigade Glen has a keen interest in the voluntary sector, understanding the value and importance of this work yet recognising the challenges it faces around funding and provision.

For businesses and communities in the East Londonderry area positive leadership is key to its continued growth and development, Glen will champion this to ensure that East Londonderry is able to thrive in all that it does, continuing to provide families with a great place to live.

I have been a committed Councillor since 2016, and have served as Chair & Vice Chair of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council. I provide fair representation with a determination to make life better and solve problems for those needing help.

I am dedicated to delivering strong representation at Westminster to bring investment, funding and growth to FST to rebuild Policing, provide strong Health and Education sectors and to speak up for our farmers and the Agri-food sector. For the past 21 out of 23 years, a strong, active voice speaking for YOU has been missing. Now is my chance to make a difference for You and Your Family.

My name is Janice Montgomery, in January I was co-opted onto Derry City & Strabane District Council as an Ulster Unionist Councillor for the Faughan DEA. I have relished the challenge, and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience, where no two days are the same. I am married with three daughters and live in the Drumahoe area where I am a member of the Fincairn Cultural & Heritage Association, which has strong community links in the Drumahoe area. Helping people has always been a passion of mine, and knowing about the issues that affect everyone locally and across the city and district allows me to carry out my role as a Member of Council.

On the 4th July, you have a clear opportunity to return a pro-Union MP who was born, educated, works and has raised his family in Lagan Valley. You deserve to be represented by an MP with INTEGRITY, HONESTY and high PRINCIPLES.

This election is pivotal for your family, for Lagan Valley and for Northern Ireland. Our constituency needs an MP who is TRUSTWORTHY, EXPERIENCED, and who doesn’t duck your questions. Lagan Valley has always been my home and there is no other candidate who has proven to represent ALL of our community.

This election is a crucial date for the future of our Union. I was born and raised in Mid Ulster and educated in my hometown of Cookstown. I am immersed in the community where I attend Orritor Presbyterian Church and am a member of the Loyal Orders. As a local, I understand the priorties for this constituency. The most prominent and pressing issue of these is the lack of representation. We suffer the burden of an abstentionist MP who refuses to take his seat, leaving us without an advocate at Westminster to support this constituency.

I work in MLA Tom Elliott's office in Dungannon, so I have significant experience dealing with and resolving constituent issues. Moreover, I am studying History and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast where I am actively involved in Young Unionism. I wholeheartedly believe the future of our Union and Northern Ireland is dependent on young people coming forward to carry the torch and lead us forward into prosperity.

I am a former Councillor, and Deputy Lord Mayor of ABC Borough. I have represented everyone, working hard with a track record of delivery. As an architect & a businessman from a rural background I believe I have the both the experience and the skills which will help both urban and rural. I am passionate about this place where I live and work, I am dedicated to delivering strong representation to ensure our business and agriculture sectors have greater opportunity to grow. I am a youth leader in my church and a member of Crosskeys Victoria Flute Band and the Loyal Orders.

I want to help create a respectful, vibrant and confident Northern Ireland within the Union looking positively into the future.

I am honoured to be the Ulster Unionist Candidate for North Antrim. I live in the beautiful village of Ahoghill with my wife Allison. We were blessed with two daughters, Emma and Lauren. Politics has always been in my family history with my father and grandfather both serving as MPs at Stormont. I entered politics a bit later in life after a long career as a Traffic Engineer in DFI Roads Service. In 2023 I was delighted to be elected to Mid and East Antrim Borough Council where I presently serve on a number of committees such as Planning, Neighbourhood and Communities and the Mid & East Antrim Policing & Community Safety Partnership.

I'm new to politics but I'm not new to delivering change.

North Down needs an MP who isn't part of the furniture of politics in Northern Ireland, but someone with fresh ideas and the contacts to get things done in North Down.

As your MP I will work with my Ulster Unionist team of MPs, Lords, MLAs and Councillors to give you even more bang for your buck. Teamwork delivers more.
North Down will always be home to me. It would be a great honour to serve the constituency as your next MP. After successful careers in the Army and business, I am ready to deliver on day one -for you and your family.

This election is about ensuring that Northern Ireland receives a fair share of UK resources based on our needs. Having twice had the privilege of serving as your Health Minister, I know first-hand the difficulties that our health, education, legal and welfare systems currently face. As your MP, I will tirelessly advocate for our public services to ensure that the best possible services are delivered in South Antrim.

I might be a new face to the political lampposts, but I grew up in Newcastle, went to school in Binnian and Ballyroney, where my father Ian was Principal, before I moved to Down High and Durham University.

My career has led from international banking to the Prison Service, my travels have taken me around the world, but South Down remains the place I call home.

I’ve been active in Unionism all my life and believe now is the time to deliver an optimistic, positive, pro-Union message.

I’m proud to be your UUP candidate. South Down is a great place, with so much to offer. You deserve an MP who engages effectively, from a party focused on a better future.

Richard served as Mayor of Ards and North Down with a focus on uniting the community, whilst also raising almost £20,000 for deserving causes.
