Colin Crawford selected as the new MLA for North Antrim

The Ulster Unionist Party are delighted to announce the selection of Colin Crawford to replace Robin Swann as the MLA for North Antrim. This comes after Robin Swann was elected last Thursday to serve as the Member of Parliament for the South Antrim constituency.

Mr Crawford said, “Following a selection meeting on Tuesday evening, I am extremely humbled to be selected as the Ulster Unionist Party MLA for North Antrim, replacing Robin Swann. Robin has been an outstanding MLA over the last 13 years. A dedicated and hard-working representative to whom we in the North Antrim Association are hugely indebted to. As Robin makes the move to Westminster, I am excited to be stepping up to continue to represent the amazing people of North Antrim.”

South Antrim MP, Robin Swann said, “I have been greatly impressed with Colin since he joined the Party, and I have seen first-hand how he built the Ulster Unionist Party vote in the Ballymena DEA at the last council election taking the seat on the first count. I look forward to working with Colin as we build the progressive and positive unionism that we represent across County Antrim.”

Party Leader, Doug Beattie MC MLA said, “I’m pleased to welcome Colin Crawford to the Ulster Unionist Party assembly team. I know he will hit the ground running and pick up where Robin Swann left off in representing the people of North Antrim and throughout Northern Ireland.”
