Butler Calls on Minister to Urgently Provide Support for Education Workers

Ulster Unionist Education spokesperson, Robbie Butler MLA, has called on the Education Minister to resolve the blockage on the pay and grading review for non-teaching staff.

“As the Ulster Unionist Party Education spokesperson, I am deeply concerned by the lack of progress on the pay and grading review for non-teaching education workers. The meeting last week between trade unions and Minister Paul Givan is yet another reminder of the urgent need for action.

“It is imperative that Minister Givan secures the necessary funding from the NI Assembly Executive to fully implement the pay and grading review. The plight of non-teaching staff cannot be ignored any longer, especially considering the vital role they play in our education system.

“The ongoing delay in addressing this issue is unacceptable. Education workers deserve fair compensation for their invaluable contributions. The time for action is now.

“I urge Minister Givan and all political parties within the NI Assembly Executive to prioritise this matter and provide the support that education workers urgently require.”
