Armstrong condemns attack on Albany Presbyterian Church Hall

Billy ArmstrongUlster Unionist Assembly Member Billy Armstrong has condemned last weeks attack on Albany Presbyterian Church Hall near Stewartstown in which ten windows were totally smashed.

The Mid-Ulster representative said; "This is the latest in a long line of attacks on Churches, Church Halls, Mission Halls and Orange Halls in the Mid-Ulster area and I have been consistent in my condemnation of all such attacks, there most be no hiding place for those scoundrels who would attack any place of worship of any denomination."

"It is clear to me that there is a pattern here in which property which is perceived to symbolise the Protestant community is regarded as fair game for attack."

"As I have said before this is completely unacceptable. Every community and faith has the right to live free from attack and intimidation. An attack on one faith is an attack on us all, and I would call upon anyone with information to make it available to the police so that they can catch the culprits and bring them before the courts."

"Northern Ireland is now a better place to live, providing a better future for all our people. If we are to build on this, then there must be no hiding place for those scoundrels who would attack any place of worship of any denomination."
