SF comments ludicrous and hypocritical

07/03/2010

Danny KennedyUlster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy has described SF comments in relation to the UUP's position on P&J as 'ludicrous and hypocritical' considering they are the party which has repeatedly plunged Stormont in crisis.

This weekend Martin McGuinness said the UUP was playing politics with the future of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

"Last year Sinn Fein prevented meetings of the Executive taking place for five months. For Sinn Fein to talk about the UUP playing politics with the future of the Institutions is laughable, if it were not so serious and so intentionally misleading and untrue."

"The truth is that the Ulster Unionist Party has rumbled Sinn Fein's agenda and Sinn Fein's game. Their inability to tolerate those who disagree with them is apparent from Martin McGuinness's comments."

"Equally for Peter Robinson to talk about the need to move on to take action to improve the Executive's delivery in Northern Ireland is also laughable coming from the First Minister whose party, in alliance with their Sinn Fein partners, has done little or nothing in the past three years and who between them have blocked a pile of legislation waiting to come through."

"What we are getting now from both Sinn Fein and the DUP is the exact opposite of the truth. They are trying to label the UUP with the very things they have been guilty of for the past three years and more. People are not taken in by these distortions."
