Delight at Broughshane Best Kept award

24/06/2010

Ulster Unionist MLA Robert Coulter has expressed his delight following the news that Broughshane has scooped the title of ' Ireland 's Best Kept Small Town '.

Describing the village in his constituency as 'idyllic' Robert said; "This award for this small community is most welcome and is a huge boost to all the local residents, to the local businesses, community workers and to the local council staff who have ensured that the village was litter free and full of blossoming plants. To those who helped - it is a huge achievement and they should be recognised for their dedication."

"In North Antrim we are blessed with some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Europe - this award will help boost our already strong tourist industry and I would encourage people to come along and see what we have to offer in North Antrim, in Broughshane and across the Borough."
