David McClartyUlster Unionist Assembly Employment and Learning committee member, David McClarty MLA, has praised the ingenuity of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) following a visit to their 40ft Mobile Training Unit (MTU) when it visited Parliament Buildings this week.

"The unit does a tremendous job travelling across the Province, delivering health and safety courses such as confined spaces, excavations, manual handling and working at heights in order to encourage the industry to build safely.

"Having dropped in to the facility as part of a visit by the Committee for Employment and Learning I was highly impressed.

"The self-contained unit has a specialised classroom facility, with power point provision and heating and lighting in order to create the best environment for training.

"This is an excellent facility, which provides the industry with a convenient way of meeting training requirements while minimising disruption to site work.

"I must commend UUP Employment and Learning Minister, Sir Reg Empey, for his support of such endeavours, recognising the value of supporting the construction sector in particular during challenging times."
